LGA Election: Why Mr Moses Ogbe was Removed as Dsiec Chairman

Editor Note: By Chief Hope Abijor

The political gladiators of the ruling PDP in Delta state are at work again to perform their acts of election riggings. They have however perfected their hitherto, ignoble roles of rigging the local government election scheduled for January 6th 2018.
One of the strategies they have started adopting has to do with the collection of people voters cards with a view for fake voters' accreditation during the said election. The tactics employed and deployed by them was to deceive the unsuspecting voters the promise of three thousand (#300,000) naira to each of these voters with this strategy they have planned to manipulate figures with which to compile fake or fraudulent elections results in favour of PDP. They have planned further to hand over the said or proposed fake results to the Dsiec chairman to be announced. This undemocratic approach to electoral matters, we learnt, was what was responsible for the removal or Mr Moses Ogbe from office as the Dsiec chairman before the end of his tenure.

We learnt authoritatively that before the dissolution of the Dsiec board, that the then Dsiec boss ( Mr. Moses Ogbe ) was summoned by the political gladiators (vultures) of PDP in Delta state to a demonic meeting where he was giving a marching order to deliver the 25 local government chairmen and councillors to the ruling PDP in Delta state, comes January 6th 2018. We were also reliably informed that the said Dsiec boss, desirous of maintaining his integrity and unblemished record of electoral fidelity declined to be associated with such electoral fraud. And that when his position on the said matter was reported to the PDP political hyenas or hippopotamus in Delta state, he gave the go ahead to the sitting( incumbent) executive Governor of the state to go ahead with dissolution of statutory board of Dsiec , since he has refuse to do the party's bidding. This arrangement was however, not without some bargaining. It was agreed by the above two actors, that after the dissolution, the master of the game in PDP in Delta state should source for and produce the successor to Ogbe who will deliver the 25 local government chairmen/councillors in Delta state to PDP. This political game plan, we were reliably informed, was what led to the appointment of Chief mike Ogbodu as the new Dsiec boss in the state.

Chief mike Ogbodu, we have authoritatively gathered, is a retired police commissioner with an unblemished record. We also learnt that he is a complete gentle man. Can this "leopard" change its spots overnight to do the bidding of PDP to the determined of his integrity? The choice is his. However, he is advised through this medium to conduct a free and fair election in the forth coming Local government election in the state or to face the wrath of the law. A word is enough for the wise.

It is quite disheartening and disappointing to note that in this era of Democratic maturity in Nigeria the ruling PDP in Delta state is still planning to rig local government election. Though their act of electoral frauds are not new to us, but this naked dance of shame which cumulated in the removal of Moses Ogbe is condemnable in all it's ramifications. It helps to explain that the PDP as a political party could be likened to a baby who who could not grow proportionately to his age. Or could PDP in Delta state been suffering from political "kwashiorkor", "Jaundice", "Monkey pox" or "Ebola"? Your guest is as good as ours.
We want to state here, without any iota of equivocation that we, the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta state, vis-avis Ethiope West are prepared to win the 25 local government chairmen and councillors in any free and fair election. The PDP should give Democracy a chance to survive and thrive in Delta state.
Thank you and God bless
