5 Dead, 23 Rescued As Lagos 3-storey Building Collapses
The death toll from the Ebute Metta building collapse has risen to 5, according to officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
On Sunday night, May 1, a three-story structure on Ibadan Street in Ebute Meta, Lagos, collapsed.
Three males and two ladies were among those who died.

So far, 23 people have been rescued from the rubbles, but many more remain trapped.
One of the survivors, Dauda Alli, acknowledged that the building was already in bad shape before it collapsed.
Rescue activities are still underway at the scene of the disaster in search of four of the building’s surviving occupants.
