Labour Party has opened up on the attack in Enugu: No bullets, bombs can silence peoples’ agenda —Gov candidate

Labour Party, LP, has condemned what it called a callous attempt to intimidate party members In Enugu State during a meeting. It added that no amount of bullets or bombs could quell the agenda and resolve of a people when the time was right.

The Labour Party declared that fraud and intimidation will not deter the people of Enugu State from electing the party in large numbers in 2023.

This comes as a result of an assault on the party’s gathering in the state last Sunday.

The September 4 incident “would go down in the political history of Enugu State as the day retrograde politics coronated itself with cowardice and violence,” according to Uchenna Igwebuike Ekwe, candidate for the Labour Party in the Enugu West Senatorial District.

The Labour Party Leader went on to say: “The notorious coronation played out in Awgu Ward 1, Awgu local government, and a week earlier at Aninri local government as suspected PDP thugs attacked the monthly meetings of the Labour Party in the two local governments, injuring Labour Party members and causing property damage.

While the rest of the nation moves away from weapons of mass destruction and biceps and triceps, the political establishment in power in Enugu State is trying the populace’s fortitude.

The attackers bragged that no political party would be tolerated in Biafra in viral videos of demonic gyrations. Except for Labour’s meeting, no other political party gatherings were threatened or targeted.

Three things are shown by this attack. First, Ndi Enugu is determined that the wave of transformational leadership sweeping through Nigeria does not leave Enugu State behind, therefore the state’s governing political elite is terrified by the popularity of the Labour Party.

“Nigerians and Ndi Enugu have a massive resurgence of faith in transformative governance, which is a result of the general acceptance of Mr. Peter Obi’s call for servant leadership and Chijioke Edeoga’s governorship campaign.

“Secondly, it is clear that the violence in the southeast is politically driven in light of the recent reaction and dreadful attack on Labour Party gatherings in Enugu State and the futile attempt to explain it as Biafran agitation.

Tragically, politicians have fueled political violence and crime by exploiting the Biafran uprising.

Although a party that has lost its appeal and connection to the populace may be concerned about a sizable loss, it is unacceptable for such a ship in trouble to resort to violence and mayhem against those who have had enough of its poor leadership, haughtiness, and impunity.

“The callous attempt to frighten LP members in Enugu State shows the perpetrators are disgruntled. Bullets or explosives cannot silence the agenda of a people or set the time.Residents of Enugu State have made up their minds to support Labour in 2023.
