Kidnapped Imo, Joel Nwankwo Monarch has regained freedom after he escaped from Kidnaper’s Den
Joel Nwankwo, the traditional ruler of Isiala Umudi in Imo State’s Nkwerre Local Government Area, has escaped from his captors.
The monarch, who was kidnapped last Friday in front of his office on Tetlow Road in Owerri, the state capital, fled from Okwu forest in the state’s Ikeduru LGA after his kidnappers called his family and demanded N200 million in ransom.
Before he “miraculously” escaped from the kidnappers’ hideout on Tuesday, September 13, they lowered the ransom to N12 million.
He has subsequently been reunited with his family, according to a source who spoke to Ejes Gist Newspaper.
By God’s goodness, His Royal Highness, Joel Nwankwo managed to escape his captors’ lair.
He used the opportunity presented by his kidnappers’ mistakes in the Okwu forest in the Ikeduru Local Government Area to flee.
