, Keke Rider Arraigned in Court

Musa Sani, a 38-year-old commercial tricycle rider (Keke rider), was docked in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 15 bags of salt and 6 bags of rice from his client.

Two counts of theft and breach of trust have been brought against the defendant, who lives in Lagos Street in Kaduna.

According to Inspector Chidi Leo, who represents the prosecution, the defendant is accused of committing the alleged crime on March 18 at Kawo Market in Kaduna.

He claimed that the defendant had stolen 15 bags of salt and 6 bags of rice, totaling N243,000, from the complainant,

The complainant paid the defendant to transport the things to the motor park, but the prosecutor said that he instead sent them to an unidentified location.

He said that the offense was in violation of ’s 2017 Penal Code sections 234 and 271.

But the accused entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.

The defendant was granted bail in the amount of N200,000 with two sureties in the same amount by the Magistrate, Mr. Ibrahim Emmanuel.

According to him, the sureties must have a job that pays a living wage and must provide the court’s registrar with proof that they have paid taxes to the Kaduna State government.

The magistrate postponed the case’s hearing until August 25.
