Kano explosion: 4 dead, eyewitness ‘saw a suicide bomber’
An explosion today along Aba Road by Court Road, near one Winners School Academy in Kano State’s Sabon Gari region, is believed to have killed four people.
An eyewitness told our reporters that they saw a male suicide bomber detonate an explosive on the street, which impacted a building next to the school.
The cause of the explosion, according to the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, has yet to be identified.
Four bodies had been recovered from the rubbles of the impacted building at the time of reporting this report.
Security agencies including as the Army, police, NSCDC, Fire Service, and NEMA have cordoned off the entire area.
Although the police spokeswoman, SP Haruna Kiyawa, could not be reached, Malam Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, issued a statement.
“The event occurred across the street from the school on Aba Road in the Sabon Gari section of Fagge local government.

“While the source of the explosion and the extent of the damage has yet to be determined, an investigation has been launched to identify the cause, impact, and next steps,” he said.
Malam Garba urged residents of the state, particularly those who live in the area where the event occurred, to be calm as the government and appropriate agencies work to resolve the situation.
He also promised that the public will be kept informed of any developments, and urged individuals to stop circulating false information.
