Nigerian High Court Judge is Dead

, a well-known Nigerian High Court Judge who also served as the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State, has died.

The judge of the Nigerian High Court died at the age of 65 years old.

On Tuesday in Ado Ekiti, the Chief Registrar of the Ekiti State Judiciary, Justice John Adeyeye, informed the media of the development in a statement to the press.


In the words of Adeyeye, Justice Fowe was a High Court Judge until his death. He described the former commissioner as a man who was brave, humble, and forthright in all of his dealings with the public.

“The pain of ’s departure will be greatly missed by the Ekiti State Judiciary and everyone involved,” the statement said.


He was born on November 25, 1956, in the Ekiti State capital of Ado-Osi, and hailed from the same town. He received his elementary and secondary education in the states of Ekiti, Kwara, and Oyo.


Fowe graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the then University of Ife, now known as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, in 1978, and then went on to study law at the Nigeria Law School in Lagos, where he was admitted to the bar in 1979.

He also worked as a private legal practitioner before being appointed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice for the State of Ekiti in November 1997 and serving in that position until May 1999.

He was appointed to the position of High Court Judge on January 4, 2010, and he remained in that position until his death.
