Gunmen have set the Imo council secretariat ablaze.
Gunmen on Sunday set on fire the secretariat of Orsu Local Government Area in Imo State.
Chibuzo Ukah, a local, believes the attack, which occurred around 2:30 a.m., was the work of the gunmen terrorising communities in the South East.

Several buildings, including the chairman’s office, administrative block, and parked vehicles, were among the facilities torched, according to her.
“Orsu is a no-go area for the youths, especially young men because the activities of these gunmen are so dangerous in the area,” another community source said, requesting anonymity.
He claimed that, like Orlu, which has allegedly become a haven for gunmen, Orsu has become a dead zone for young men.
He urged government officials to exercise caution in order to avoid making inflammatory remarks that could lead to a crisis.
When contacted for confirmation of the incident, Imo Police spokesman Michael Abattam said, “Officially, I don’t know about it for the time being, but let me confirm from the DPO in Orsu.”
Hon. Ekene Nnodumele, a lawmaker in the Imo Assembly, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
“It happened,” he said, “but we don’t know who committed the crime.”
