Magnus Abe, a former senator and APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, said on Thursday afternoon that he has not abandoned the party.
Earlier today, some media reports claimed Abe had abandoned the APC.
According to reports, the 57-year-old also dropped out of the APC governorship race.
He was said to have withdrawn from the contest through the South South Cordinator of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Vanguard (BATS-V), Sir Tony Okocha.
However, Abe has stated that the news is false.
“I’ve been getting a lot of calls that I’ve left the APC, but that’s not true,” he said at a press conference in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
“I, Senator Magnus Abe, will be on that ballot, and the people of Rivers will be able to choose who will lead our state in the future,” he added.
Today, the APC holds governorship primaries in 28 of the 36 states of the country.
