In the late afternoon and early morning hours of Monday, military sources confirmed that there had been a “event,” however they stressed that the pilot had survived based on the information they had at the time.

The identity of the flight officer (whose name has been concealed) has now been revealed. During a series of airstrikes carried out in Zamfara’s Sububu woodland on July 12, he piloted the plane that was responsible for the deaths of more than 120 bandits.

The operation was carried out in response to an alert issued by locals to security forces, who were informed that a large number of criminals in automobiles and motorcycles were assembling.

After a reconnaissance aircraft despatched to establish the presence of the bandits confirmed the location of the bandits, the pilot launched a bombing campaign against targets in the areas of Sububu, Jajani, and Dammaka.

On Sunday, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Director of Information, Edward Gabkwet, assured the media that there was no disaster. “I have made touch with other sites and am awaiting information from them,” he stated.

While the public waits for an update, the Ejes Gist News has learned that an official answer is being prepared and will be released later on Monday afternoon.

“Without locating the aircraft, the NAF cannot certify the existence of such an incident. The safety of valiant pilots and soldiers is of the utmost importance to the military community. According to what I’ve heard, a search is currently underway”.

After the plane vanished from radar between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. yesterday, the Air Force and intelligence units focused their attention on two areas.

These include the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, which lies between Kaduna and Katsina States, and the axis of Funtua (in Katsina) and Gusau (in Kaduna), which lies between the two states (Zamfara).

One of our sources has told us that there is no cover-up going on.

Additionally presented information has been regarded as “not suitable for public consumption at this time.”
