Two lovers died in Aba, Abia State’s commercial capital, after the lady set the man on fire.

The incident occurred on Aba South Local Government Area’s popular Lagos Street.

The male victim, whose identity was not immediately known, worked at a bread bakery on Obohia Road.

Oluchi, the female victim, was the owner of a boutique.

The two died shortly after being admitted to various private hospitals as a result of their severe burns.

According to a local resident, the male victim who had dated the female boutique owner left her to marry another female bakery worker with whom he was said to have had an affair.

“The owner of the boutique had no idea that the guy in their bakery was dating another girl.”

“It got to the point where the guy impregnated the female colleague without the knowledge of the other girlfriend.”

“Funnily enough, the guy told the lady boutique owner that he needed N200,000 for something, which she gladly provided.

“She had no idea the guy was going to pay for the bride price of the girl he had impregnated in their bakery with it.”

“When the lady learned of the guy’s marriage, she acted as if she had no knowledge of the traditional marriage.

“After the wedding, the lady invited her boyfriend to her house, and the guy showed up without knowing what the lady was planning.

“Shortly after the guy arrived, the lady locked her door as she always did, and after a short time, she reappeared with a bucket full of gasoline, which she pouted on the guy and set ablaze.”

“She ran for her door to flee as the guy burned, but the guy grabbed her and they both started to burn.”

“She raised the alarm in the heat of the incident, which attracted neighbors who broke into the lady’s house to put out the fire.”

“They were taken to various hospitals but were turned away due to their serious bodily injuries.

“Even though they were later admitted elsewhere, they died a day apart.”

The incident was confirmed by a police source at the Aba Area Command Headquarters, but there was no official report on it.
