JAMB gives reason for withholding some UTME results
The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has explained why some results from the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have been withheld (UTME)
The examination body blamed examination malpractices, misconduct, procedural violations, and incomplete centre reviews for the failure to release some of the 2022 UTME results.

According to Punch, JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, revealed this during an interview on Monday, where he listed these reasons and urged candidates to thoroughly check their results.
“We have released results for this batch,” Benjamin said. There are numerous reasons why a result may be withheld. It could be the result of examination malpractice, the candidate’s inability to conduct himself or herself properly, a procedural flaw, or a centre review.”
JAMB had promised to withhold the results of candidates found guilty of malpractices in an earlier bulletin.
“About 1.4 million candidates have taken the examination across the country so far,” the bulletin says, “with some examination towns and centres completing their own allotted number of candidates for the year while the results of already taken sessions will be released to the respective candidates.”
“However, after previewing the Closed Circuit Television footage of the conduct of the examination, any candidate’s result found wanting would be withdrawn if it had already been released or withheld if it had not yet been released.”
