On Saturday, April 9th, 2022, the 2022 UTME mock will be held. Every year, JAMB organises a mock UTME examination for candidates who will be taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). During the 2022 UTME registration, candidates were asked to indicate their interest in participating in the mock exam.
The mock exam is optional, for the record. The score is not added to the main exam, and participation in the main exam is not required.

The 2022 mock exam’s main purpose is to allow candidates to assess their level of preparation and familiarise themselves with the computer-based test environment. The mock exam was introduced in 2017 to provide all candidates with a hands-on experience with the system, particularly for those who are unfamiliar with computer use.
The mock exam also provides an opportunity for JAMB to test all systems in all centres to ensure that they are ready for the main exam. It also prepares CBT centres and gives them an idea of how to deal with candidates during the main exam.
The printing of the 2022 UTME mock slip is expected to begin next week. This will allow those who will be participating in the mock to learn about their centres and other pertinent information. We’ll let you know when it starts.
Ejes Gist Newspaper reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has received 1,837,011 registrations for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The figure included Direct Entry candidates, according to the board, which announced it in its weekly bulletin on Monday.
Jamb Latest News Updates on Registration
The 2022 UTME registration period began on February 19 and ended on March 26. The examinations will take place from May 6 to May 16.
JAMB also revealed that the regulated N700 service charge had been remitted to its accredited computer-based test centres for a total of N238,105,700 since the fifth week of registration.
During the exercise, the board had previously prohibited the use of cash in all of its accredited CBT centres.
It instructed all candidates to pay the service charge along with the N3,500 application fee to the e-PIN vendors, which it remitted to the centres on a weekly basis proportional to the number of candidates they registered.
The board, however, stated that payment of the total amount to all centres did not include JAMB-owned CBT centres.
Jamb Latest News on CBT Centres Preparations
Meanwhile, Ejes Gist Newspaper Nigeria reports that the board has written to the CBT test centre operators to express its displeasure with the recent increase in diesel prices.
Prof Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), stated that the board was in consultations with relevant government agencies on the necessary assistance to be provided to CBT centre owners.
“The board is in consultation with relevant government agencies on providing appropriate remedies as part of its strategies for a holistic solution to the problem,” the bulletin stated. He reiterated the board’s desire to provide critical support to its service partners at every stage of the organization’s operations.
“This assurance, according to the registrar, was required due to the heavy reliance on diesel-powered generators to administer the board’s examination.”
“As a result, he declared that the board would always go above and beyond to support its critical partners, so that no service provider would be able to claim failure.”
“As a result, the registrar expressed the board’s desire to provide necessary palliatives to CBT centres within approved government limits, among other things.” As a result, he pleaded with the owners of CBT centres to give the board a little more time to obtain the necessary approvals, which would go a long way toward alleviating their predicament.”
