JAMB has fixed August 6 for UTME mop-up
For candidates who were unable to participate in the examinations during the exercise for some verified reasons, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) set Saturday, August 6 as the date for its mop-up UTME.
According to the board, JAMB’s determination to provide equal opportunity to all candidates who are interested in tertiary education led to the decision.
This was stated in JAMB’s weekly bulletin, which was published on Monday in Abuja by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Media and Information.
The board stated: “After every UTME exercise, JAMB reviews a number of reports from local officials as well as video footage of the test. A team of experts conducts the reviews in order to look for activities that undermine the examination process.
“The management would make crucial decisions regarding the necessity or not of a mop-up examination for affected candidates after all the reports had been compiled and taken into account.
The results of all the candidates who took the examination in the 10 affected centres had to be cancelled as a result of a thorough investigation into how the 2022 UTME was conducted in the 10 centres spread across five states of the federation.
“The Board recognised the unfortunate fact that some innocent candidates took their exams at these centres. The mop-up UTME has been scheduled for all candidates who took the UTME in the affected centres.
It should be noted that candidates who were absent from those centres for any reason are ineligible to take the mop-up exam. In addition, 142 candidates who were unable to complete the UTME due to fingerprint irregularities, 28 candidates who were unable to complete the UTME due to technical issues in some centres, and 1,799 candidates with BVM failure who were recaptured at the centres had their dates changed for the mop-up UTME.

JAMB Announces top performers for 2022 UTME
Top performers for the UTME in 2022 have been released by JAMB.
Only 378,639 of the 1,761,338 candidates who took the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations received a score of 200 or higher, according to the Registrar of JAMB. This was disclosed by the Registrar during the 2022 JAMB Policy meeting.
A total of 520,596 candidates received scores of 190 or higher, followed by scores of 180 or higher, 170 or higher, 934 or higher, and 160 or higher for 1,192 or higher.
JAMB approves cut-off marks for universities, polytechnics
On Thursday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board approved the cut-off scores for the nation’s universities and polytechnics.
The choice was made following a contentious meeting that included representatives from the National Universities Commission, the Ministry of Education, the National Board for Technical Education, and others.
The cut-off figure for polytechnics was 120, while universities required 140.
