The 2020/2021 post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME  screening will kick off  in Nigeria’s higher institutions on September 7, 2020.

The agreement was reached at a gathering between the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of tertiary institutions on Monday.

The Registrar of JAMB, Prof Is-haq Oloyede, who made the announcement, stated the screening would now maintain between September 7 and November 18.

Earlier, the board had issued a suggestion for all tertiary establishments to start their admission with impact from August 20.

Oloyede stated the adjustment within the date would permit college students taking the 2020 O’ level examinations to have the ability to take part within the screening.

He stated, “Presently as you are aware, WAEC starts the Senior School Certificate Examination on August 17, it will go on till September 7.

“Similarly, on September 21 or thereabout, NABTEB will commence its examination that will go on till on the 15 of October, and immediately after that, NECO starts on the 5th and will hold till 18 of November.

“Rather than making candidates run, particularly, when they will have to write their school certificate exam in different towns and rush to university elsewhere for post-UTME, like somebody rushing from Sokoto to Ibadan for post-UTME, we believe as a custodian of the highest sector of the education system, we should avoid that.

“For those (institutions) who want to take post-UTME, that cannot be earlier than the 7th of September and it will be held twice – September 7 to October 4, and then it will be held for the second time on the 18 November to mop up those who are taking their school certificate examination.”

Recall that all schools were closed due to the Coronavirus

Will jamb Add mark for 2020 candidates?

First of all, JAMB is not going to add any 40 marks across candidates results. So if you are relying on such hope, please don't do that as it will fail you. Concerning the cancellation of JAMB 2020 results, the management has not made any official announcement concerning such.

Visit jamb.org.ng/efacility . Login to your Jamb profile with your username and password. After successfully logging in, scroll down then locate and click the 'Check Admission Status' tab. Select your Exam year and Enter your registration number in the required column.

How do I accept admission?

Select 'Admission Status' on the left panel. Locate and click on the 'Search' button in front of your JAMB Registration Number to load your profile. You can now accept/reject your admission offer under 'Admission Profile'.
