IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu ’s trial adjourned 

Ejes Gist News can authoritatively report that the IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu’s trial has been adjourned to January 20, 2022.

Among the charges against Kanu were acts of terrorism and treason, as well as the spreading of false information against President Muhammadu Buhari, primarily through broadcasts on the infamous Radio Biafra station and on social media.

On the 21st of October, he entered a not guilty plea and was released.

A trial has been scheduled for Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who has been taken before a court by officers from the Department of State Security (DSS).

Around 9:50 a.m., Kanu was escorted into the courtroom amid heightened security measures.


Officials from the Department of State Services (DSS) had earlier set up a blockade at the entrance to the Federal High Court where the case was to be heard, preventing journalists and other officials from entering. Nnamdi Kanu arrives Federal high court (photos)

In preparation for Kanu’s court appearance, the Nigerian government filed seven amended charges against him, including treasonable felony and acts of terrorism. Kanu’s first appearance in court was in December.

Kanu has been charged with “terrorism,” “treason,” and “propagating falsehoods” against President Muhammadu Buhari, primarily through broadcasts on the controversial Radio Biafra station and also through social media. Kanu has denied the charges. During his most recent court appearance, on October 21, he entered a not guilty plea.

Prince Kanu arrives Federal high court in Abuja

Prince Kanu Meme, one of the younger brothers of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is at the Federal High Court Abuja for the trial of his sibling.

Kanu Meme was also at the hearing in October.


Kanu Meme arrived at around 8:30am. He posed for a picture with Aloy Ejimakor, a counsel to Nnamdi Kanu. It is not yet clear if the IPOB leader has been brought to court, but many of his supporters were spotted outside the premises of the Federal High Court.


 Prince Nanu Meanwhile, the Department of State Services (DSS) has denied journalists access to the court room where trial of the detained IPOB leader will be holding.

Kanu, who was re-arraigned before trial Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, is facing a seven-count amended treasonable felony charge the Federal Government preferred against him.

As early as 6am, heavily armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) ordered journalists to turn back.

The hooded operatives, who barricaded all routes leading to the court, equally barred both print and broadcast journalists from major media organizations from entering the court premises.
