Insecurity : Army warns Nigerians

The Nigerian Army has cautioned in opposition to insinuations able to inflicting panic and displacement in resettled communities in Borno.

Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Operation LAFIYA DOLE gave the warning in a press release issued in Maiduguri on Sunday.

Nwachukwu mentioned that the military had obtained studies indicating that some unscrupulous parts have been instigating residents of Bama, Dikwa and Monguno to desert their properties and relocate to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps within the state.

According to him, there was no foundation for inhabitants of the affected communities to desert their properties as such insinuations are instigated for undisclosed causes.

He mentioned the military and different safety businesses would shed extra mild on the state of affairs on the extraordinary safety assembly conveyed by Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno.

“We will prefer to additional state that there isn’t any foundation for the individuals of Bama, Dikwa and Monguno to vacate their respective communities.

“However, troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE along side Borno State Government are working towards relocating residents of Baga to safer places in view of the continuing army operations within the space.

“Members of the general public are suggested to stay calm because the army is in agency management to ensure their security and safety.

“We will prefer to warn that any try and trigger additional panic via false alarm can be seen very significantly,’’ Nwachukwu mentioned.
