INEC declares David Lyon winner of Bayelsa 2019 governorship election


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, David Lyon, winner of the state 2019 governorship election which held on Saturday November 16th.

Faraday Orumwese, Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin and the returning officer within the election, introduced this within the early hours of today Monday, November 18th. Orumwese acknowledged that  Lyon polled 352,552 votes to defeat Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 143, 172 votes.

The whole quantity of registered voters was introduced as 922, 562 and the quantity of accredited voters was put at 517,883.
