Imo state Assembly Speaker, Hon Kennedy Ibeh Resigns, New Speaker Elected

Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, who was representing the Obowo State constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, has decided to step down from his position as speaker of the assembly.

On Monday, Mr. Ibe tendered his resignation to the legislators gathered in an extraordinary plenary session at the facility that houses the main house of the assembly.

According to him, he arrived at this choice after extensive discussion with members of his family and political allies.

Ibeh has claimed that his decision to step down from his position as Speaker of the House of Assembly is also in the All Progressives Congress (APC) political family in Imo State’s best interest.

On the other hand, he reaffirmed his unwavering support for the APC in Imo State, as well as for the state administration and the legislature.

While all was going on, Emeka Nduka, a politician who represents the Ehime Mbano state constituency, was just sworn in as the new Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
