Federal and state emergency responders on the scene of the fallen building have rescued nine persons, while the bodies of ten others have been recovered.

Security agents, including Nigerian Army soldiers, police officials, and personnel from the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, have roped off the area.

This was done to keep a mob from entering the rubble of the building that had collapsed.

However, ten men were chosen from among individuals who claimed to have a loved one trapped in the wreckage of the fallen building to join the rescue operations.

The ten men who were allowed to participate in the rescue attempts were reportedly sent away from the scene.

When asked why they were sent away, they stated that no reason was given to them.
