IGP Probes Burna Boy’s Excort Shooting
Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has ordered an investigation into the alleged shooting of revellers at Club Cubana in Lagos by Burna Boy’s police escort.
The officers involved in the alleged shooting have been arrested and are being investigated, according to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson.
On Wednesday, Ibrahim, one of the musician’s five police escorts, is said to have opened fire on Irebami Lawrence and Tolu, his friend, at a club near Victoria Island.
The shooting happened after the ‘Last Last’ singer allegedly made a pass at Lawrence’s wife, according to reports.
Lawrence was said to have resisted Burna Boy’s alleged advances on his wife, resulting in a confrontation with the singer’s police escort.
Adejobi said in the statement that the IGP called the circumstances surrounding the incident “unbelievable.”
