President Muhammadu Buhari has received a vote of confidence from the entire Executive Committee and leadership of the HOSCON Youth Wing, as well as the National Leadership of the Organization, led by the indefatigable and visionary Chairman, Prince Dr Mike Emuh, for his fatherly love towards the host communities and his timely resolve to bring into effect the long-awaited Petroleum Industrial Act.
The HOSCON Youth in a statement signed and Issued on Sunday 26th September 2021 by Comrade Emmanuel Bipi, International/National
Youth Leader, Comrade Samuel Success
Youth Coordinator, National,State, and Local Government, Comrade Onyewenu lsioma, National Youth Secretary and Comrade Agadia Samuel Oghenegare, SA to National Chairman, on Youth Mobilization and Projects, made available to Daily Independent Newspaper remarked that the entire region is in good spirit and the people are still basking in the joy of laying to rest the issue of the PIB which is christened as the longest bill, ever in the history of Nigeria.
The HOSCON Youth body expressed delight as they acknowledged in their statement that more oil wells have been discovered and added to the region’s reserves, as their hope for development was further boosted by the prompt and appropriate appointment of an illustrious son of the soil, Senator Ararume from Imo state, to the newly reformed Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

According to the HOSCON Youths, the appointment of Mr. President to the position of Ararume is one of the many great testaments to his love for the Niger-Deltans and the HOSCON communities at large that he has given.
“As a happy people, full of expectations and hope for many more good days to come under this progressive and pragmatic leadership of the current government, of President Buhari, we the HOSCON Youths fully align ourselves with the activities of the Government and pledge our unalloyed solidarity to the Government of the day.” the statement continued.
Among those who have made significant contributions are our own Honourable Minister for State Petroleum, Chief TIMIPRE SYLVA, the ever cool, calm, articulate, dogged and amiable Deputy Senate President Olorogun Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, and the HOSCON Board of Trustees, which is led by our amiable royal father, His Majesty, Dr Alfred Ditte Spiff- the Amayanabo of Twon Brass (the first military governor
In addition, the youth group stated that ” We can not forget the very proactive 9th National Assembly for their efforts toward their harmonisation on the resolution of giving 3 percent quantum of Petroleum production to the host communities, an act we consider as a step in the right direction for a people who have been crying and yearning for a comesurate development for the region that is the most blessed in the world, with resources that has fed this great nation for over 60 years now, still counting.”
The HOSCON Youths went on to say that while they advocate for an increase in the allocated quota in the near future, they believe that first and foremost, we must recognise the tremendous step forward taken by the APC-led government in terms of national leadership. As a result, they believe that the approval of the 3 percent is far superior to an endless clamour for a percentage that is not feasible at this time.
The HOSCON Youth Group went on to say the following:
“In fact, the Public Investment Authority (PIA) is a welcome development and a rare gesture by the Buhari-led government. As President Buhari has openly acknowledged, President Buhari is the most friendly President to the host communities, and this will go down in Nigeria’s history as a watershed moment in the country’s development.
In their statement, the HOSCON Youth Group stated that they “would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to our principal, the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Chief TIMIPRE SYLVA, for his ebullient and indefatigable fighting spirit for the progress of the Niger Delta Youths, His fatherly disposition, quintessential leadership prowess, his magnanimous service towards humanity, as well as many more of his other good qualities, which have
Indeed, we believe he has written his name in gold, and history will be kind to him for the rest of his days.”
They stated unequivocally that the PIA, as a piece of legislation, is the most necessary, viable, and potent tool for ushering in an undeniable avalanche of development and progress to the Niger-Delta and the Host communities at large, and that they are overconfident in this assertion.
As a result of our collective aspiration as a people and as a region, the HOSCON Youths believe that having an African version of Dubai built in the area where the golden egg is laid will no longer be a pipe dream.
The Youths asserted that, in light of President Muhammadu Buhari’s desire and political will, as evidenced by his swift ascent to the overstayed PIB, his swift endorsement and implementation of PIA thus far, and many more of his developmental projects planned to be implemented in the region, we have no choice but to extol his leadership style and support his government for the good deeds he has brought to us as a people.
In conclusion, they stated: “The HOSCON Youths are grateful for the numerous developmental strides you have made during your six years in office.”
Despite the numerous challenges that your regime has faced, including the price of crude oil plummeting to its lowest point in history, as well as the widespread spending on combating the hydra-headed bane of insecurity challenges across the nation, including the challenge of dealing with the pandamonium thrown at us by the widespread deadly global pandemic of covid19, your achievements are numerous and well documented.
Although there are numerous bottlenecks, we recognise that your government is steadfastly committed to doing more for the general public despite these obstacles.
As a result, we, as a group of people united under the banner of the HOSCON Youths, would like to reiterate our confidence in you,” they concluded in their statement.
