PDP crisis: Meeting between BoT, Wike ends in deadlock
Ejes Gist Newspaper reports that the meeting between the Board of Trustees, or BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Governor Nyesom Wike came to a standstill.
Hopes were high when the party leadership kicked off a truce meeting to try and put an end to the crisis that is rocking the party.
The BoT Trustees’ and Governor Wike’s peace talks, however, did not go as planned as the meeting ended in a deadlock.
The party was involved in a political turmoil soon after its presidential primaries, as Ejes Gist Newspaper recounts.
Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Iyorchia Ayu are at the centre of the crisis that has gripped the organisation.
Nearly four hours were spent in a private meeting at Government House in Port Harcourt, which ended at 4:35 p.m. with the participants grinning and joking with news reporters as they left.
