Kano Court has sentenced proprietor to death by hanging for  the Killing of Hanifa

Abdulmalik Muhammed Tanko, the owner of Noble Kids College, and another man, Hashimu Isyaku, both 38, have been sentenced to death by hanging for the kidnapping and murder of , a five-year-old student at the school, by the Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Usman Naabba.

The defendants were sentenced to five years in prison each for conspiracy.

They planned the kidnapping and murder of Hanifa from the Kano-based Sheik Dahiru Bauchi Islamic Foundation last year.

The young girl, who was five years old, was later interred in a small grave at Northwest Preparatory School, which is situated at Kwanar Yan Ghana in the Nassarawa LGA of Kano.

In an effort to support their case, the prosecution team, led by Kano State Attorney General Musa Abdullahi Lawan, called eight witnesses and provided 14 exhibits.

Murja Suleiman Zubair, the deceased man’s mother, DSS agents who detained Abdulmalik, and police investigators were among the witnesses.

However, the exhibit that was offered included, among other things, the defendants’ confessional statements, a picture of the deceased, a hijab, and an Islamic school badge. Read  Proprietor Kills 5-year-old Kano girl after collecting ₦6m Ransom


Fatima was charged with abetment but the prosecution was unable to prov

e it, so she was only given a one-year sentence for conspiracy and one-year for trying to commit the crime.
