Some yet-to-be-identified armed men abducted two persons in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday.

The victims were thrown off the bridge over the Obiaja River after being kidnapped along the Nnobi—Nnewi Road and taken to Alor.

This was further supported by a viral video from the incident that depicts one of the abductees sobbing and recounting his ordeal while being interviewed by members of the Tiger Squad Local Vigilante, Alor.

One of the victims, Benjamin Okafor, claimed to have been abducted around 9:00 p.m. while travelling to his hometown of Amichi in the Nnewi South Local Government Area with another person.

He claimed that after driving halfway into the roughly 20-foot-high bridge, the kidnappers threw them off, and he fell to the ground on a concrete base.

The second victim, on the other hand, did not survive the fall; his lifeless body was discovered in the drainage system, covered in floodwater and large rocks.

The victim who survived also suffered injuries of varying severity throughout his body.

DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident when he was contacted and said that the victim had been saved and the body had been placed in a mortuary.

The man was saved, and he is now receiving medical attention in a hospital, the man said. He was later located and brought back to his family. The investigation has started while the second victim has been taken to the morgue.
