Gunmen have Abducted popular Nigerian pastor and Son in Ondo

There was heavy tension in Ondo State after unknown gunmen kidnapped a pastor identified as Venerable Olu Obanla.


On Saturday, the Christian cleric was reportedly abducted along with his son on Ifon-Okeluse Road in the state’s Ose Local Government Area.

The victims were reportedly travelling down the road when the hoodlums approached them and dragged them into the bush to an unknown destination.

According to a source, the bandits contacted the family shortly after the abduction and demanded N10 million in exchange for the victims’ release.

The family was unable to obtain the funds because they could only collect N1 million, which the abductors refused.

Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, a state command spokeswoman, confirmed the incident and said the command’s detectives were working to save the victims.

Meanwhile, Nigerian police have confirmed that kidnapped federal lawmaker, Okechukwu Okoye, has been beheaded. Also, Governor Charles Soludo has placed a N10m Bounty On Killers Who Beheaded Okoye In Anambra State.
