Gunmen Invade Abuja Palace
Gunmen are said to have kidnapped Hassan Shamidozhi, a traditional ruler in Bukpe community, Kwali local council of the federal capital territory (FCT).
The gunmen allegedly stormed the palace on Wednesday night, shooting at random to intimidate locals before escorting the monarch away.
Police spokesman in the FCT, Adeh Josephine, has been contacted for comment on the event.
The kidnapping is the latest in a series of kidnappings in the nation’s capital that have targeted traditional rulers.
Gunmen kidnapped Ibrahim Pada, the traditional head of the Rubochi community in the Kuje local council of the FCT, in December 2019.

The incident reportedly harmed two of the monarch’s children.
After a few days in captivity, he was released.
Five people were kidnapped in the city in less than 24 hours earlier in September of the same year.
Nine people were kidnapped in Pegi, a hamlet in Kuje area council, a month later, including a 12-year-old boy.
