Governor Nasir El- Rufai clears the air on Renaming Kaduna State

Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna state, has denied rumours that the state will be renamed.

According to rumours, Zazzau State had replaced Kaduna State’s name.

According to reports, the Kaduna State renaming bill was approved by the National Assembly and sent to President Buhari for approval by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.

Additionally, it was stated that 13 of the lower chamber’s 15 members, who represented various regions of Kaduna State, approved the bill, which was sponsored jointly by Senators Suleiman Abdu Kwari and Uba Sanni of Kaduna Central.

El-Rufai responded by debunking the report and labelling it as fiction.

The governor referred to the “news” as fake and urged state residents to disregard the elaborate work of fiction that claimed to have changed the name of the state in a statement that was signed by his Special Adviser for Media and Communications, Muyiwa Adekeye.
