Okowa is an inelegant to Ijaw people!

According to Philip James “it is no great misfortune to oblige ungrateful people, but an unsupportable one to be forced to be under an obligation to a scoundrel” there is no gainsaying that Okowa leg government has neglected the riverine communities most especially the Ijaw localities in terms of projects and other developmental strides. It intrigues my psychic each time I look back to the region that made the throne Okowa is enjoying today, nothing to show for being governor makers…. may be gov. Okowa is psychologically disillusioned with the ineffable details of show he became governor in 2015. There is fundamental need for him to know where he is coming from.

Twilight to the party primaries in 2015 gov. Okowa was not among the three considered governorship aspirants that was shopping for the seat. Formser governor Dr. Emmanuel E. Uduaghan at that time was the person who dictate the tune of delta pdp. He presented Mr. Tony Obuh from delta north before the state caucus and SWC largely regarded to have the backing of presidency. Due to the supremacy of Uduaghan’s position, they accepted Tony Obuh in their lips but deep down their hearts was invidious on the ground that he was not ubiquitous in party activities. But the fact remains that Uduaghan choice candidate presented orchestrated shenanigans and there was a serious internal schism in the party. Some egregious politicians in the state took the matter to Chief James Ibori in the UK prison and resolved to support his former commissioner David Edevbie. Ibori communicated the resolve directly to Dr. Uduaghan to act upon, and overnight Edevbie became the favoured aspirant of Goodluck Jonathan led presidency.
Senator IFEANYI OKOWA who was hopeless ran to ex-Niger delta militant, Government Ekpemupolo who is popularly known as Tompolo for rescue. Right in the floor of Tompolo Okowa was pleading making all sort of promises. Some of such promises was that his deputy will be nominated by Tompolo, commissioners that will represent his area, to have his ears anytime he (Tompolo) call his attention, to execute laudable projects in his domain and other appointive positions. Having agreed on terms, Tompolo took Okowa to Patient Jonathan wife of former president to solidify the bidding. Patient Jonathan in turn hypnotize her husband GEJ to accept Okowa as his candidate.

Furthermore, Tompolo gave Okowa over $3million to prosecute the party primaries on the eve of the election. It was the fund that change the game! While some other aspirants openly gave delegates $4,000 and 500,000, Okowa dished out #1m to each of the delegates that finally gave him the victory.

what else can a man do that deserves this abandonment from Okowa? No laudable project in the riverine communities. The principle of reciprocity avow that “he who much is given much is expected” but Okowa pays Tompolo and his riverine communities with bad coin. No good road, no electricity, no good hospital, no modern schools, no affordable transport network, etc.

What an ingratitude! According to Timothy Dexter “an ungrateful man is like hog under a tree eating acorns, but never looking up to see where they come from”. Who on earth will be delightful with this kind of obnoxious reward? Gov. Okowa should look back where he is coming from.

Even the iota of projects awarded to these localities are concrete pavement roads that are still under construction, and the modicum rehabilitation of an old fashioned hospitals in Patani and Bomadi respectively. The only viable project the people can console themselves with, Ayakoromo/Igbo-Ide bridge is being politicized. A project that requires #3.1bn to completion Okowa only released #1bn. How can this money complete the bridge project? Okowa should not be playing politics with the bridge project.
Okowa body language towards the Ijaw people that gave him block votes is share hatred, flippancy, malfeasance, injustice, atrocity, negligence of the highest order. Why consider the Ijaws second fiddle? Why consider them least in your hierarchy of project execution? Can Okowa kill my pessimism by showing me a #3bn project started and completed in these Ijaw localities? You video and snap projects from other areas showcasing to Deltans that you are working, how many of them can you video and snap from people that made you governor? There is God oh!
In need, I’m appealing to HE Gov. Okowa to search his conscience and do the needful. What is good for goose is good for the gander! Your town hall meetings will not help you…….
