Get Weapons And Defend Yourselves Against Fulani Herdman 

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has urged residents and citizens of the state to obtain guns and protect themselves against killer herdsmen.
The Governor made the plea during an interdenominational service at the Government House Chapel in Makurdi on Sunday to conclude a seven-day prayer and fasting programme for peace in the state.

Ortom, who warned that he would no longer broadcast the slaughter of his people by Fulani herders, advised them to arm themselves with weapons such as Dane guns, bows and arrows, spears and knives, and other weapons not outlawed by law.

He asked them to register their firearms as self-defense weapons.

“I won’t publish the deaths of those slaughtered by Fulani herders any longer; stand up and defend yourselves with weapons not outlawed by law, like as bows and arrows, spears, and knives,” he added. Obtain a dane gun licence from the local government authority and use it to defend yourself.”

He claims that God has assured him that no weapon fashioned against him will flourish as long as he remains in His presence.

“God promised me a long time ago that no weapon fashioned against me would flourish as long as I lived within the circle of his presence,” he stated.

Rev Akpen Leva, the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), praised the southern governors’ decision to prohibit open grazing of cattle in the region.

He also assured the governor of the Church’s cooperation in ensuring the safety of the people.

In other news, the Nigerian Air Service (NAF) has stated that an appropriate decision on the fleet of aircraft available to the force will be made in light of the crash in Kaduna on Friday that killed the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and other high military commanders.

The decision will not be hastened, according to NAF spokesperson Edward Gabkwet, and will be made only after the results of investigations into the immediate and remote circumstances that led to the crash on Friday and other recent ones are revealed.

He went on to say that the Air Force is collaborating with the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) to figure out what the best course of action is.
