Full video of Vice President Osinbajo’s declaration for the 2023 presidency has  emerged

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has announced his intention to run for president in 2023 on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) (APC).

After months of speculation about whether or not he would run for president,  Vice President Yemi Osinbajo officially declared his intention to run for president 2023

“I am today, with utmost humility, formally declaring my intention to run for the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of APC,” he said in a video posted to his timeline.

“I have served as Vice President under a true Nigerian patriot, President Muhammadu Buhari, for the past seven (7) years,” he added.

“During these 7 years of duty and service, I traversed every part of our country, meeting Nigerians of all cadres, classes, tribes, and walks of life, young and old; I MET YOU.”

“I’ve stood in your shoes and sat in your chair. From a place of relatable proximity, I know and understand our hopes, aspirations, and fears, and I believe that those hopes and aspirations contain the seeds for the great Nigeria that we all desire.

“I believe that the Almighty God gave me these experiences, insights, and opportunities for the sole purpose of putting them to use for our country and its great peoples.

Declares for President 2022

 

“It is for this reason that I formally declare my intention to run for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, today, with the utmost humility.”

“As fellow Nigerians everywhere in this land and in the diaspora, I also most solemnly and respectfully seek your support as we embark on this great and exciting journey that lies ahead of us.”

The ‘declaration video’ was seen being shared across Osinbajo’s social media accounts.

Osinbajo will now compete for the APC presidential nomination against former Lagos Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ebonyi Governor Dave Umahi, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, and Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Osinbajo, who turned 65 last month, is a former lecturer at the University of Lagos and a senior advocate of Nigeria.

He also serves as the senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Osinbajo declares for 2023 presidency

Ten Promises are ;

1. GOVERNANCE: “Improving the capacity of states and local governments to carry out their mandates.”

2. AGRICULTURE: “Advancing the agricultural revolution, particularly through mechanisation and the development of the farm-to-table value chain.”

3. REGULATIONS: “Ensuring that the , its agencies, and regulators work in the best interests of the business community.”

4. TECHNOLOGY: “building a tech economy that will employ millions of people”

5. POVERTY: “Achieving the goal of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in the next decade.”

6. SIP: “Transforming our Social Investment Program into a full-fledged social welfare programme”

7. EDUCATION: “Completing the task of ensuring that all Nigerians, male and female, attend school, as well as reforming our educational system to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century”

8. HEALTH: “Finishing the work of achieving universal health coverage for all”

9. EXCELLENT BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT: “Providing an excellent environment in which businesses can flourish.”

ETHNICITY “Let us build a Nigeria where the man from Nnewi sees the man from Gusau as his brother, where the woman from Warri sees the woman from Jalingo as her sister, and where the love of our country burns brightly in the hearts of boys and girls from Gboko to Yenogoa.” Where everyone has a home somewhere in this land, where our differences, tribes, and faiths unite us rather than divide us.”

“Let our tribes unite to form the Nigerian tribe, where everyone is treated fairly, justly, and respectfully.”
