President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally nominated 68 Nigerians for ambassadorial appointments, comprising both career and non-career diplomats.

Ejes Gist News reports that a formal request for confirmation of the nominees was submitted to the Senate and read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The list includes 34 career ambassadors, 31 non-career ambassadors, and high commissioners.

The first three nominees have already been screened and cleared by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, including some prominent figures such as former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and ex-Ambassador to the Commonwealth Secretariat, Ayo Oke, Amin Muhammad Dalhatu, and Lateef Kayode Are, former Director-General of the State Security Service.
