Anger wells up in APC over party leaders wooing Wike
The relationship between the state’s governor, Nyesom Wike, and several APC southwest governors has been criticized by some APC members in Rivers state, Ejes Gist Newspaper reports.
Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, was urged to cease parleying with Wike by the displeased members, who included state house of assembly and house of representatives members.
They claimed that by praising the PDP governor and visiting him at his invitation, APC officials are effectively running a campaign for the governor.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and some party governors of the southwest have been urged to end their romance with Nyesom Wike as members of the party in the state find it disheartening to watch their leaders they look up to engaging with Governor Wike of the People’s Democratic Party according to the national and state house of assembly and other party stalwarts.
The disgruntled party members said that the leaders even inaugurated projects at Wike’s invitation, thereby improving the PDP’s chances in Rivers by praising the governor before the general election.

The candidates spoke at a one-day consultative meeting of the South-South Executive Committee, which was held in Port Harcourt under the auspices of Victor Giadom, the zone vice chairman of the APC National.
Additionally, they claimed that the party’s state branch in Rivers had been neglected by President Muhammadu Buhari and the national working committee.
They said that the APC, led by Adamu Abdullahi, the party’s national leader, had missed important meetings with state stakeholders.
