Fr Mbaka returns to Adoration, addresses congregation amid tears
Rv Fr Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, returned to adoration site on Wednesday to address adorers.
Enugu Catholic priest wept hysterically as he told the faithful he won’t celebrate Mass till the Bishop approves.
A video released on Adoration’s Facebook page shows Fr Mbaka arriving at the AMEN ground to address thousands of Adoration believers who had converged there daily since it was closed.
Fr. Mbaka informed the gathering that Adoration remained closed and all activities were paused by Bishop Callistus Onaga’s decision.
“I’m a Catholic priest, and the Bishop is my father. I pledged to obey him and his successors.” I must.”
He urged them to quit criticizing the Bishop or Enugu Catholic Church and instead pray for them. He begged them to keep praying for Peter Obi, their brother and friend.
“I’ve come to bless you and send you on your way. I don’t want you to be stubborn. I want peaceful fans. We’re not bandits, so don’t call us that. We’re dutiful God’s children, and the mother church loves us.
“We love our Bishop, so quit insulting him!” We’ll never forget his kindness.” “…show our Bishop love, speak well of him, don’t write negatively about him.” If you offend the Bishop, you insult me.”
“I won’t attend Mass until the Bishop approves.” Why? they inquired. He said, “Don’t ask me why; I’m a Catholic priest.”
He answered to the faithful who begged him to give them a date they will resume their activities by saying, “I’m not the Bishop to give date, we are pleading and that’s why you must pray that he grants date. I’ve come to disperse you in peace, at least you’ve seen me.”
“Bishop, take compassion on us and grant us a date” We need adoration! Mercy-based justice? Bishop! Mbaka’s departure left the adoration ground empty.
