In connection with the alleged rape of a 19-year-old woman in Warri, four members of the Delta State Anti-Cult squad have been arrested.

 

The teen was allegedly raped on Thursday in an  uncompleted building, according to sources.

 

Comrade Israel Joe, a human rights activist, said the woman was standing in front of her home with a young man when her attackers, all anti-cult members, whisked her away.

“Four of the men dismounted their tricycle (Keke). They pulled the girl into their Keke while aiming their weapons at the guy standing next to her.

 

“They brought her to Apala to an unfinished church. She said that only one of the four, Efe, raped her while the others stood by and watched. She screamed, but no one came to her aid.

 

“The man they were pointing their guns at raised the alarm, and officers from B Division Warri immediately tracked down and detained the suspects.

“We brought her to the hospital for testing that confirmed the claim, awaiting the outcome of the court case. “The lady was admitted to the hospital, but she is now recovering,” Comrade Joe said.

Newsmen was provided with a copy of the medical report dated Friday, March 26.

 

Edafe Bright, an acting police spokesman, acknowledged the incident and said the investigation was still underway.
