FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee condemned the match’s poor organisation for a lack of order and security, citing ‘failure to enforce current safety standards and inability to ensure that law and order be maintained in the stadium, invasion of the field of play, and object throwing’.
Apart from the 150,000 Swiss franc punishment, Nigeria’s next home match would be played without fans.
