FG Announces Date for Local Vehicle Production Kickoff
Nigeria Set to Commence Local Vehicle production.
The Nigerian government has announced plans for the commencement of local manufacturing of vehicles before the year’s end. This revelation was made by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Doris Uzoka-Anite, during a meeting of the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers and the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association held in Abuja on Friday, May 3.

Uzoka-Anite revealed that funds have been allocated to support the growth of Nigeria’s automotive industry and empower local manufacturers. Emphasizing the importance of sourcing vehicle materials locally, she urged stakeholders across the automobile ecosystem to embrace the Nigerian Automotive Development Policy and contribute to the nation’s economy.
The Nigerian Automotive Development Policy aims to promote the production and consumption of locally-made vehicles, thereby reducing the country’s dependence on imported vehicles and creating employment opportunities within the automotive sector.
