Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind : Executive Secretary needed


The Executive Secretary will likely be accountable for the total strategic management, administration and clean operations/execution of all the Society’s initiatives and actions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Full duty for Fundraising, on behalf of the Society.
  • Being the ‘public face’ of the Society.
  • Networking with associated organizations.
  • Initiating, nurturing and sustaining shut hyperlinks with organizations pleasant to FNSB.
  • Serving on all committees of the Council
  • Preparation and presentation of month-to-month FNSB actions report back to Council
  • Preparation and presentation of Annual Budgets to Council for approval
  • Personnel administration, together with recruitment, efficiency value determinations, coaching,  self-discipline, improvement and deployment.
  • Overview of the administration of the Center premises together with college infrastructure, amenities and enterprise ventures.
  • Liaison between the FNSB Council and different workers by cascading Council’s choices to them.
  • Implementation of Council directives and choices.
  • To concentrate on the Objectives, Values, and the Code of Conduct of the Society in an effort to guarantee strict adherence by different workers.
  • Implementation of insurance policies and pointers laid down by the Executive Council for the clean operating of the Society’s workplace
  • Ensure correct implementation of all committees’ initiatives and actions

Person Specification:

The ideally suited candidate will:-

  • Be dedicated to the mission, imaginative and prescient, values and aims of the Society
  • Be a optimistic and dedicated worker of the Society by demonstrating the highest private {and professional} ethics;
  • Be a superb communicator with a transparent understanding of the function and its duties of the place

Desirable Skills

  • Experienced Administrator/Manager.
  • Performed roles at a supervisory/Managerial stage e.g. Dept. Head
  • Working unsupervised self-motivated 
  • Must be teachable and prepared to be taught new expertise

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of First Degree in Administration or Social Sciences (a Master’s Degree will likely be of benefit)
  • Knowledge of psychology
  • Customer service expertise
  • Thorough and pays consideration to particulars
  • Patience and the skill to stay calm underneath strain
  • Good IT Skill and computing, (Microsoft Suite of Software)
  • Fire security skilled (to be offered if not accessible)
  • CPR skilled (this will likely be offered if not accessible)
