Ezenwafor Withdraws barely 24Hrs After Emerging Presidential Candidate of

, the Labour Party’s factional presidential candidate, has announced his withdrawal from the race just 24 hours after announcing his candidacy.

Ezenwafor stated in a letter obtained by Ejes Gist Newsaper on Thursday that his decision was based on personal reasons.

“I am withdrawing from the upcoming Presidential Election of 2023.” I decided to withdraw for personal reasons after consulting with my supporters across the country.

“I apologize for any inconvenience my absence may cause our wonderful party.

In a letter addressed to the Labour Party’s national chairman and copied to the Independent National Electoral Commission, he said, “I thank the leadership of our great party for giving me the opportunity to serve Nigeria” (INEC).

Ezenwafor Withdraws

The emergence of Ezenwafor as the Labour Party’s second factional presidential candidate on Wednesday exacerbated the party’s crisis.

“What we are doing here today is electing a man who is worthy to give us that change we’ve been yearning for,” said Mr. Calistus Okafor, a party factional leader, when announcing Ezenwafor’s candidacy.
