Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has urged Oby Ezekwesili, the former Minister of Education, to withdraw a petition she filed with the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, requesting the prosecution of blogger and social media influencer Japheth Omojuwa for alleged fraud.

Omokri pleaded with Ezekwesili to show Omojuwa the “heart of God” and “forgive” all of the blogger’s supposed wrongdoings in a Facebook post on Friday.

Despite Omojuwa’s previous labelling of him as a “useless item,” the ex-presidential aide said it was his prayer that God would help him resolve his current challenges.

“I implore Dr. Ezekwesili to remember 1 Corinthians 6:7. Even if it means we will suffer wrong, Scripture forbids believers from going to court against other believers. God is the final arbiter. Allow Him to take care of your vengeance. Don’t kill the young man. Omokri said, “May God bless you both.”

Ejes Gist Naija News previously announced that Ezekwesili’s petition, titled “Petition Against Mr Japheth Omojuwa for Forgery, Fraudulent Misrepresentation, and Fraudulent Use of the Name, Identity, and Particulars of Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili as a Director of Alpha Reach Limited RC No: 1066507,” was dated April 14, 2021 but received at the Force Headquarters on April 15, 2021.

Omojuwa fraudulently listed her name as a director in his firm, Alpha Reach Company Limited, without her permission, according to the petition, which was signed by Marshal Abubakar of Falana and Falana chambers. Ezekwesili said she only learned of the infraction when she was contacted by American news outlet Buzzfeed about a storey on Alpha Reach.

According to Buzzfeed, Alpha Reach ran a social media campaign to get suspected fraudster Alex Saab, who is wanted in the United States, released. Ezekwesili’s name was also identified as a director in company records filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission, according to the news outlet.

Omojuwa did not seek her permission before naming her as a director of his business, according to the former minister. She also told the IGP that throughout the time she was fraudulently made a director in the company, no notice of meetings, annual returns, accounts or board resolutions were issued to her.

She noted that her name was eventually removed in 2017 but no special notice of proposed removal was ever issued or served on her.

“We submit that the foregoing infractions amount to forgery, fraudulent misrepresentation and egregious breach of extant provisions of the Penal Code Law, the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 and the Companies and Allied Matters Act deserving of investigation and prosecution,” the petition partly read.
