Ese Brume wins Long Jump Silver at World Athletics Championships

Nigeria’s has clinched a silver medal in the women’s long jump at the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon.

Malaika Mihambo, the German Olympic champion in the women’s long jump, won the World Championship gold on Sunday with a final leap of 7.12 metres, surpassing Brume for second place (Monday morning Nigerian time).

The silver medal, won by Ese with a leap of 7.02m, was an improvement over his previous World Championship bronze medal.

Ese Brume win came just minutes after Tobi Amusan won a maiden World Championship gold for 100mH for Nigeria.


Ese Brume is a Nigerian athlete who specializes in the long jump. She is a three-time African senior champion in the long Jump and holds a personal best of 7.17 m She is the African junior record holder in the event and also a five-time African junior champion in athletics.
