Manchester United appoint Erik ten Hag as manager

Manchester United has named Erik ten Hag as their new manager.

Erik ten Hag appointment is for two years with a one-year extension, according to a statement on the club’s official website.

“Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Men’s First Team Manager from the end of this season until June 2025, subject to work visa requirements, with the option to extend for a further year,” reads the statement.

“During his four years at Ajax, New Manchester United manager  has proven himself to be one of Europe’s most exciting and successful coaches, renowned for his team’s attractive, attacking football and commitment to youth development,” said John Murtough, Football Director.

“We were deeply impressed with Erik’s long-term vision for returning Manchester United to the level we want to compete at, as well as his drive and determination to achieve that, in our conversations leading up to this appointment.”

“We wish Erik ten Hag  the best of luck as he concentrates on bringing Ajax‘s season to a successful conclusion, and we hope to welcome him to Manchester United this summer.”

Ten Hag said this while reacting to his appointment as Man United’s new manager.

The Dutchman, who will assume his role at Man United at the end of this season, will remain at Old Trafford until June 2025, with the option to extend for a further year.
