EFCC arrests Chinese for alleged illegal mining in Kwara

In Ilorin, Kwara state, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained a Chinese national named Gang Deng, who is 29 years old, on suspicion of engaging in illicit mining.

“Deng was arrested on Friday, September 9, 2022 and found to be in possession of crude minerals without authority,” said Wilson Uwujaren, a spokesperson for the Anti-Graft Commission.

“A truck load of minerals that may have been lepidolite was recovered from him,” the report states.
