This wasn’t an easy decision to arrive at. However, after due consultations with the party hierarchy and leaders, I withdraw my candidacy for the primaries and give my unreserved support to Hon. Sebastine Okoh.
I believe in Hon. Okoh’s personality and acknowledge his contributions, so I withdraw to work with him to ensure that the Ika North East Constituency is delivered to our party, the APC.
In his statement, Comrade Nweke said, “Following widespread consultations with family members and political associates, I wish to make the following statement on my House of Assembly aspiration to represent Ika North East Constituency.
” In solidarity with the leadership of the party and in the interest of our people, I, NWEKE Justin Junior, hereby announce my withdrawal from the APC Ika North East House of Assembly Contest.
“Furthermore, I declare my unflinching support for Hon. Sebastine Okoh, who has shown capacity, character, and commitment to the development of Ika North East Constituency.” ”
Therefore, I urge delegates who would have voted for me to cast their votes for Hon. Sebastine Okoh, in the best interest of all and for the surest assurance of victory”.
In a related development, Ika Born Business Man and member of Sebastine Okoh Campaign Organization (SOCO), Prince Iyke Mordi, has reacted to the unfolding events.
According to Prince Mordi, “The move by Engr. Jackson and Comrade Nweke is very commendable and their sacrifice is sincerely appreciated.”
The goal is for us to work together to deliver a victory that we all enjoy and be proud of. ”
Sebastine Okoh is the best chance APC has for the Ika North East House of Assembly seat, and from developments in the ruling party, if APC works hard, it will produce the next House of Assembly Member of this Constituency, God willing”.
Ika North East is the constituency of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, with the PDP opting to give its ticket to the Governor’s daughter, Mrs Marylyn Okowa-Daramola.
The development in the APC is coming with a view to ensuring a showdown between Hon. Sebastine Okoh and Mrs. Okowa-Daramola in 2023.
