Ayodele Fayose, a former Ekiti state governor, has revealed that any attempt to arrest Adeyemo on Sunday, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, would intensify the region’s brewing unrest.

Recall that on Friday, the inspector-general of police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, ordered Igboho’s arrest over the notice of exit provided to Fulani settlers in the state of Oyo.

Seyi Makinde, the state governor of Oyo, also ordered Ngozi Onadeko, the state police commissioner, to arrest people found guilty of stoking ethnic tension.

Fayose urged Makinde in a Twitter post on Saturday to engage in dialogue and meet all stakeholders in order to get the situation under control.

Instead of raising tension in his own state, Gov Seyi Makinde could instead use dialogue and persuasion by calling for the arrest of Sunday Adeyemo or anyone at this time,” Fayose said.”

If FG and some governors should ‘dialogue’ with terrorists from Boko Haram, it would not be a misguided move for Gov Makinde to call all stakeholders to a round table discussion.

Any effort to detain someone would place the already precarious stability in the West and the country as a whole at greater risk. Any unchecked escalation, above all, can lead to a state of emergency.

GOV SEYI MAKINDE SHOULD RATHER USE Negotiation AND PERSUASION INSTEAD OF ESCALATING Conflict IN HIS OWN STATE BY CALLING ADEYEMO OR ANYONE AT THIS TIME FOR THE ARREST OF SUNDAY.

GOV MAKINDE CALLING ALL STAKEHOLDERS TO A ROUND-TABLE DISCUSSION Would NOT be a Misguided ACTION IF FG AND SOME GOVERNORS Should ‘DIALOGUE’ WITH BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS.

ANY ATTEMPT TO Detain Anyone Would Trigger More THREAT TO THE READY FRAGILE PEACE IN THE WEST AND THE World AS A WHOLE. OVER ALL, ANY UNCHECKED ESCALATION Could Lead to an Emergency State.
