Meanwhile, through its Standing Lending Facility, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) lent commercial banks a total of N595.34 billion over the course of two months.
The figure is included in its website’s most current monthly economic report.

Eight hours of trading on Wednesday, the stock exchange restarted from the two-day Eid el-Kabir holiday with shareholders’ investment down -0.32 percent.
The grade reaching N27.80 trillion on Friday, the equity capitalization decreased by N90.14 billion to settle at N27.71 trillion.
The All-Share Index decreased by 167.16 basis points to end the week at 51,390.25 as opposed to the 51,557.41 reading from the previous week.
On Wednesday, investors made 4,769 trades totaling N2.18 billion on 198.81 million shares.
This was more above the 115.13 million shares worth N1.77 billion that investors transacted in 3,479 deals on Friday.
CWG was the top gainer, increasing its share price by 10% from N0.80 to N0.88 per share.
Caverton increased its share price by N0.12kobo, from N1.22kobo to N1.34kobo.
The price of an Academy share increased by N0.18kobo to N2.07 at the close of trade.
RT Briscoe increased by 8.82 percent to close at N0.37kobo per share from N0.34kobo.
The share price of International Breweries increased by N0.40kobo to N5.80kobo per share.
Multiverse was the biggest loser, dropping from N2.10kobo to N1.89kobo per share after losing N0.21kobo.
Redstar Express’ share price decreased by N0.27kobo to N2.48kobo at the close of trade.
Cutix decreased by N0.20kobo to close trading at N2.20kobo per share from N2.40kobo.
Unity Bank’s share price fell from N0.49 to N0.45 after losing 8.16 percent.
Livestock’s share lost N0.11 million during trade, falling from N1.38 to N1.27 per share.
GTCO had the most shares traded throughout the day, 51.89 million worth N1.06 billion.
Following with 21.91 million shares worth N5.69 million was Japaul Gold.
19.64 million shares worth N147.68 million were traded by UBA.
While International Breweries traded 9.05 million shares worth N52.26 million, Jaiz Bank sold 12.54 million shares worth N11.07 million.
