I’ve been working with Northern leaders, step down for me, Tinubu tells Atiku 

Prior to the February 2023 presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has requested that Abubakar Atiku withdraw from consideration in favour of Tinubu, Ejesgist.com reports.

This was said by Tinubu on Monday during a discussion with certain Northern leaders held under the aegis of the Arewa Joint Committee.

I have More Experience with Northern Leaders- Tinubu

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Candidate is therefore asking the PDP presidential candidate to step down and endorse him

A few presidential aspirants had been invited by the committee, which consists of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation (ABF), Arewa Research and Development Project, and Jamiyyar Matan Arewa, to participate in an interactive session in Kaduna.

Atiku Abubakar, a candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Abiola, a candidate for the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), and Adewale Adeboye, a candidate for the Social Democratic Party, all participated in the programme, which began on Saturday (SDP).

The Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi, Tinubu were present at the occasion in Kaduna today (Monday).

According to the organisers, the meeting was a part of a larger interaction with a few presidential candidates to talk about their plans for the area before the general elections in 2023.

Recall that Atiku had urged Northerners to support him in the 2023 presidential election instead of the Igbo or Yoruba candidates on Saturday.

The ordinary Northerner, according to him, requires someone who is from the North, understands that region of the nation, and has the ability to forge connections across different parts of the nation.

“The Northerner needs something like this. Yoruba or Igbo candidates are not necessary. I am a pan-Nigerian of northern descent, and I stand before you,” Atiku stated in a popular video.
