The Delta State Government has officially opened registration for the Tertiary Institutions Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP), a youth-focused initiative designed to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment among students of Delta State-owned tertiary institutions.

The programme aims to identify, nurture, and support students with innovative and bankable business ideas, providing mentorship, skills development, and resources to transform them into successful entrepreneurs and job creators.

Programme Objectives

The TEP initiative is designed to:

  • Equip students with practical entrepreneurial skills.
  • Support innovative business ideas through mentorship and funding.
  • Encourage youth economic empowerment in Delta State.
  • Promote graduates as job creators rather than job seekers.

Eligibility Criteria

Students interested in Delta TEP registration must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a student of a Delta State-owned university, including:
    • University of Delta (UNIDEL)
    • Delta State University (DELSU)
    • Southern Delta University (SDU)
    • Dennis Osadebay University (DOU)
  • Must be of Delta State origin.
  • Age between 18 and 35 years.
  • Must be in 200 Level, 300 Level, or penultimate year of study.
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.5.
  • Must possess an innovative and bankable business idea.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following online:

  • Recent passport photograph
  • Admission letter from the tertiary institution
  • Birth certificate
  • Local Government of origin certificate
  • Detailed business plan proposal
