The Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State has commended the effort of the State Govt, for initiating the border closure.

According to the APC State Chairman, Hon. , the fight against this endemic is not something to toil with, or handled with levity, and it is a serious matter that requires all hands on deck, with all seriousness.

In his words, the APC State Chairman said, “this battle against COVID 19, is our collective responsibility, irrespective of our political affiliations, we must all come together as a people, as Deltans and as Nigerians in general, putting our all into this, to ensure the total eradication of the deadly virus.’

According to him, this is not the time to play politics. “I must commend our governor Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for taking the initiative to close down our border on time, to prevent the disease from entering Delta.’

From the latest NCDC report, Delta is yet to confirm any case of COVID19, making the border closure initiative a very laudable one.

Hon. Elvis Ayomanor also used the opportunity to plead with all well-meaning Deltans and organizations to step up to our community responsibilities and help to reach out to the less privileged, aged and widows within our communities, to cushion the effect of the lockdown in the state.

The chairman thanked Chief Oritsejolomi Emmanuel Uduaghan (Jnr), Olorogun Barr. Jaro Egbo (ksc) and others who have taken it upon themselves to reach out to Deltans through cash and food items.

The chairman also used this medium to Appreciate the federal government for their effort so far towards containing the coronavirus and the palliative measures taken so far. He also pleaded with the minister of humanitarian services to extend the twenty thousand naira palliative to Deltans too.

The Chairman, who expressed his happiness at the latest NCDC report, declaring Delta COVID19 free, also called on the State Governor Sen. Okowa to soft-pedal on the internal lockdown.
He pleaded with the state governor to allow intra state movement to enable our people to go about their businesses within the state while the borders remain entirely shutdown.
