The President, in response to Tuesday’s attack on the NDA’s permanent facility in Afaka, Kaduna State, in which some NDA personnel were killed, promised that the victims of the attack would not perish in vain.
Buhari stated in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, that the attack’s consequences would eventually result in the eradication of criminality in the country.
“Rather than dampening our Armed Forces’ determination to put a decisive end to criminality in the country, the attack launched on the facility of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on Tuesday will bolster their determination to put a decisive end to criminality in the country,” President Muhammadu Buhari said.
Also, the military has launched a manhunt for the abductors of an officer at the NDA.
“Noting that the attack, which resulted in the loss of life, occurred at a time when the military was putting insurgents, bandits, kidnappers, and other types of criminals on the run, the President says the heinous act would hasten the total uprooting of evil in the polity, which members of the Armed Forces are adamant about achieving in the shortest possible time.
“Commiserating with the bereaved families and praying for God’s comfort, President Buhari promised that the deceased would not die in vain, as the heinous act would have repercussions that would eventually rid the country of vermin and emancipate the polity from deliberate, targeted, and contrived atrocities.
“The President thanks all Nigerians who value and appreciate the efforts of our military, and urges those who are playing hateful politics with the dastardly act to desist,” the statement said. “Rather than recriminations, this is the time for all patriots and people of goodwill to support and encourage those who are at the forefront of the fight against wickedness in the land,” it added.
